On October 17, leading international creatine researchers gathered at the University of Cambridge to honor the late Dr. Roger C. Harris, a pioneering scientist whose groundbreaking studies in the early 1990s laid the foundation for modern creatine research. Dr. Harris, who passed away in December 2024, made seminal contributions to understanding the physiological and metabolic effects of creatine supplementation.
The Memorial Symposium provided a meaningful opportunity to reflect on Dr. Harris’s scientific legacy—one that continues to inspire researchers worldwide—and to discuss how the field has evolved beyond sports nutrition to encompass clinical medicine, public health, and broader aspects of human physiology and nutrition.
Our lab associate, Dr. Sergej M. Ostojic, had the privilege of participating in this event and presenting on the topic of creatine as a semi-essential nutrient for life-long nutrition.
We will always remember Roger not only as a brilliant scientist but also as a dear friend and supporter of our laboratory.
