Our junior researcher and PhD student, David Nedeljkovic, is presenting our latest creatine research at the 50th FEBS Congress in Maastricht, one of Europe's premier meetings in molecular life sciences.
David is showcasing findings from the CONCRET-MENOPA study, highlighting the effects of highly soluble creatine formulations on metabolic health in midlife women. The presented data indicate that eight weeks of combined creatine hydrochloride and creatine ethyl ester supplementation improved serum lipid profiles, while low-dose creatine hydrochloride favorably modulated fasting glucose concentrations. In addition, serum amyloid-β levels remained stable across all intervention groups, suggesting that these creatine formulations do not adversely affect this biomarker and may have potential neuroprotective implications.
Overall, these findings support the emerging role of highly soluble creatine formulations as promising nutritional strategies for improving metabolic health in (peri)menopausal women.
