Creatine and glucose for long COVID
Our study has recently been published in the Journal of Nutritional Science and Vitaminology! This report delves into the effects of an 8-week intake of creatine, both with and without glucose, on patient-reported outcomes, exercise tolerance, and tissue creatine levels in fifteen male and female adult patients with long COVID. We found that several long COVID symptoms, including body aches, breathing problems, difficulties concentrating, headache, and general malaise, were significantly reduced in the group receiving the creatine-glucose combination at the 8-week follow-up. Specifically, the effect sizes for reducing body aches, difficulties concentrating, and headache were 1.33, 0.80, and 1.12, respectively, indicating a substantial effect of the creatine-glucose mixture on these outcomes.
