Kick off for elderly hydrogen trial

Does H2 decelerate aging?

Kick off time for another RCT in elderly! This time, we aim to evaluate does 6-month supplementation with magnesium-powered hydrogen-rich water affect molecular and phenotypic biomarkers of aging. This ambitious trial (acronym: H2AGE) that has started earlier today, comprises various biomarkers of aging in men and women over 70 years, such as extensive blood biochemistry panel, brain metabolism, cognitive and physical function, even facial skin features, assessed both before and after the intervention in a magnesium-controlled parallel-group design. The trial is the second experiment of PhD project for our lab technician Dragana Zanini, with study partly supported by HRW Natural Health Products Inc. and Serbian Ministry of Education, Science and Technological Development (# 175037). More details are available via ClinicalTrials.gov.
