Edited by Dr. Shamim Ahmad, Handbook of Mitochondrial Dysfunction (CRC Press, 2019) has been published few weeks ago, bringing a long-awaited summary of mitochondrial dysfunction in basic and applied biomedicine. This interesting book focuses upon diseases and conditions linked to these ubiquitous organelles, including current and potential future therapies for mitochondrial dysfunction diseases.

Dr Sergej M. Ostojic contributed a chapter to this book, overviewing pathophysiology and biomarkers of mitochondrial dysfunction induced by heavy exercise. A must-have volume for mitochondria aficionados!
